Biography

My art is an exploration of line and emotion. I find that the human figure is the perfect vehicle in which to express both. Although many of my paintings are figurative, I rarely have a preconceived notion as to the direction my work will take. I allow the forms to reveal themselves and then begin the process of deconstructing images, manipulating boundaries, and distilling shape while leaving the essence of humanity and nuance of emotion that is universal and understandable. Color carries the emotion of my work and varies within each piece and each moment.
